I wanted to break free from the loud buzzing noise of Chicago and find peace perhaps in a Traverse City wedding. My husband’s hometown could just be the right pick as the venue for our wedding. I knew he was elated when I told him about it. I was too, because I would be away from the busy streets, the endless traffic jam and the glaring city lights.
The sweet serenity of a garden wedding was quite hard to find in Traverse City. Though there were really world class gardens that we could work around with, the number of guests was just impossible to fit in. Slashing our invitees by a significant amount will be lessening the value of the wedding. There needs to be a strong surrounding of people who share with our exchange of vows. That was the whole idea for having over 100 guests. Besides, since we come from all over, there were visitors who needed to represent those places.
The Traverse City wedding expert whom we contracted as our wedding planner, suggested that we endure an hours drive from Traverse City to Charlevoix. He told us that the answer was right there. Looking at this wedding planner’s portfolio, we just had great confidence in what he had to say.
We were welcomed with stone castles and a huge garden estate. I was not in fairytale land. Everything was real, the greens were real, the way the sun shone on the castles was real, and the ambiance was all natural. We just had to sign off on date that same day. There was nowhere else our wedding was going to happen.
